You spoke. Boston is listening.

Thank you to everyone who rode with us Sunday for the Glacial Pace Rally and Ride! It was ~cool~ to see so many of you join us as we called on Mayor Walsh to pick up the pace when it comes to building a safe, separated bike network.

Boston is listening — but we need your continued support to ensure they act.

Right now, we are at Boston City Hall testifying at the City Council’s hearing on the Boston Transportation Department budget. Donate now to support our fight for the bike network — for you — in real time!

Through our Boston Bike Budget campaign, we’ve elevated bike safety in the press and secured commitments from City Hall on some specific projects. Though it’s not all we’re asking for, the Mayor’s FY2020 budget does increase funding for the Strategic Bike Network by $1 million (our request was for an additional $3 million), and includes a commitment to finally add safe infrastructure on the southern portion of Mass Ave — our top project ask! Heck, we even spooked Walsh into trying to overshadow Sunday’s rally by releasing a statement touting his bike plans for the coming years. Clearly our advocacy is working!

We couldn’t have achieved all this without your support. Every time we met with city councilors, they came away impressed by the size of our membership and the dedication of our members. One of the key ways that we continue to build power is through sustaining and growing our membership. That’s why we hope you’ll consider joining the Bike Union or renewing your membership today.

For the entire month of May, you have even more incentive to donate, as we’re giving away a FREE Copenhagen Wheel (a $1,500 value!) to one lucky person who joins the Bike Union, renews a membership, or gives a gift of $36 or more through May 31.

The Bike Union is only as strong as its membership. Help us reach our goal of 500 contributions this month so we can keep fighting on behalf of everyone who bikes in Metro Boston!
