The first result of a new field project by Tufts Urban + Environmental Policy + Planning school to design a concept connecting the Harbor Walk to the Neponset Greenway has a sexy new name: The Dorchester Coast Trail.

The 3-month effort involving a half-dozen graduate students will look at the area between the corner of Morrissey Blvd. and Mt. Vernon Sreet all the way to the former land of the Schafer paper company in Port Norfolk.

Union director Pete Stidman and Candice Cook from the Boston Natural Areas Network have been chosen to liaison with the students for a wider group of stakeholders including DotBike, the Dorchester Environmental Health Coalition, and others.
