Boston Bike Story: David

When and why did you start biking?
I am from Colombia, and there on Sundays they shut down the street and hundreds of people [Ed. note: Sometimes millions!] come to bike and walk. It’s like Memorial Drive here, but the Ciclovía there is a longer stretch and filled with more people.

I started biking in Boston 4 years ago when my car broke down and because my girlfriend encouraged me to. Now, I bike 13 miles each way, every day, on my commute from Brighton to Natick.

What’s your favorite biking memory?
I went with my girlfriend to the Netherlands and it was amazing to see the infrastructure. It felt so much safer there than here.

What would you tell people who don’t bike in Boston?
Try it out! It’s great for your health, well-being, and finances.
