Thanks for helping us make Biketoberfest the best party we've ever had!
Thanks to everyone who joined us on October 20th for Biketoberfest: Election Edition! This year’s fall party was our best yet, helping us raise over $30,000 for better biking in the Boston area! The party brought together over 250 of our members to celebrate our successes and hear from inspiring speakers including Boston City Council President Michelle Wu, and Cambridge City Councilor Nadeem Mazen (pictured to the right), before dancing the night away!
Held at Hibernian Hall in Dudley Square, just a few blocks away from our office, this year’s election-themed Biketoberfest helped us continue to draw attention to the “All-powerful bike lobby,” showing elected officials and candidates who took the time to attend how committed the bike community is to advancing progress, and raised our visibility and political power.
With appearances from Boston City Councilor Annissa Essaibi-George, representatives from the offices of Boston City Councilors Ayanna Pressley and Mark Ciommo, Boston City Council candidates Kristen Mobilia, Brandon Bowser, and William King, Cambridge City Council candidate Bryan Sutton and a representative from the campaign of Gubernatorial Candidate Bob Massie, our elected officials and candidates heard loud and clear that anyone running for office needs to take this issue seriously. They saw that there is a huge constituency who is committed to making biking in the Boston area safer and more comfortable for people of all ages and abilities.
The election is tomorrow, so be sure to check out the Massachusetts Vision Zero Coalition’s candidate questionnaire to see where your candidates stand on this issue, and don’t forget to vote on November 7th!
If you missed the party, but want to help support our work of making the Boston area safer and better for people of all ages and abilities to bike as a means of transportation, you can still donate!
