The BCU's Activist Group is our membership's committee for taking ideas and turning them into action. The Activist Group has been responsible for much of the public work that the BCU has done in the past few years.

The Activist Group is responsible for for mobilizing folks out to meetings, like the packed Hyde Park Avenue meeting in 2025 which showed near unanimous support for safer infrastructure. We also helped push the city to clear snow out of bike lanes by mobilizing volunteers to shovel parts of Commonwealth Avenue.

The Activist Group also came up with, planned, executed and largely delivered the Arrive Alive signs. These signs ended up all over Greater Boston to show average Bostonians and especially the Mayor that safe streets and bike lanes are an issue that ordinary people care about.

Want to get in on the success?

Activist Group meets every 3rd Tuesday from 6-7:45PM over Zoom.

The Activist Group primarily communicates over the BCU's Slack. We’re eager to hear ideas, tactics or any other way you want to be of help.

If you want to get involved reach out to Mandy Wilkens at mwilkens@bostoncyclistsunion.org
