The City of Boston adds some 250 “lollipop”-style bike racks to our city streets each year. The vast majority have been placed by request. Anyone can request the city install bike racks in any place, though whether they are ultimately installed or not will depend on local conditions and how many other rack requests are also pending. The city has informed the BCU that neighborhoods that currently have fewer racks now will receive priority.
