SUMMARY:Women’s Learn-to-Ride Workshop: Basic Skills
DESCRIPTION:In order to encourage more women to bike\, the City of Boston is offering several “Women’s Learn to Ride” clinics\, and a more advanced “Street Skills” class! Running from June through October\, these events are taught by women and open to all women and non-gender-conforming people who live in the city of Boston. The events are free\, but registration is required. \nThis class is appropriate for people who have never ridden a bike before\, or can ride a little but need to work on basic skills (starting\, stopping\, turning). SUMMARY:Allston/Brighton Mobility Study Kick-off Open House
DESCRIPTION:The Boston Planning & Development Agency is kicking off a public process to identify potential improvements impacting all modes of mobility in the Allston and Brighton neighborhoods. Dubbed the AB Mobility Study\, this plan aims to build off Go Boston 2030 to establish actionable goals and projects to improve mobility\, safety and quality of life in Allston/Brighton. Community feedback will play a large role in shaping the plan\, which will be crafted over the following year with an expected finalization date in Winter 2019/20. In this introductory meeting\, city staff will provide an overview of the project and solicit suggestions for how the study should be conducted\, and what exactly it should address.

On Sunday\, September 23 we will be hosting We Ride Too\, an event designed to bring millennials of color together to discuss experiences biking in Boston’s neighborhoods and biking as a person of color. On our 10-mile ride starting at Blackstone Square in the South End we will also highlight successes towards making Boston a safer City to bike in and areas that will only be improved if we build the power to make changes so everyone get around safely and comfortably.
