SUMMARY:Ride and Walk For Your Life
DESCRIPTION:In 2024\, our Ride for Your Life bike ride and rally drew over 400 people to Boston Common on the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. Since then\, traffic violence has continued to impact our neighbors across the Commonwealth. As of October 20\, a total of 273 people have been killed on Massachusetts roads this year alone\, including forty pedestrians and seven cyclists. These deaths are preventable\, and we will not accept any loss of life on our roads.  \nJoin us on the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims on Sunday\, November 16\, to remember those we have lost and encourage our state legislators to pass legislation for automated enforcement and expanded truck safety requirements that will help prevent crashes that end in tragedy. \nRSVP Here: http://bostoncyclistsunion.org/rawfyl

DESCRIPTION:NEW DATE: Saturday\, March 26 \nWe are holding our first community bike ride of the 2022 season and we hope you can join us! The 3-mile loop around Roxbury will include stops to highlight Black leaders who organized to shaped the community\, streets\, and transportation we experience today and ways for you to keep shaping the future of our streets. We are excited to have State Representative\, Nika Elugardo\, join as one of our speakers! \nSaturday\, March 26\, 2022 \n2:00 PM – 4:00 PM \nStart and End at Roxbury Crossing \nThe ride is free\, and registration is not required but helps us plan refreshments and logistics. There will be free bike repair from 1:30 – 2:30 PM and we will roll out around 2:30 PM and end back at Roxbury Crossing by 4:00 PM. This ride is for all ages and abilities\, including children and families! \nWe have BlueBikes passes available if people want to ride for free. If you’d like to bike to the ride from your home\, contact Eliza Parad\, Director of Organizing\, to get a code for a BlueBike ahead of time. We will also have helmets for sale for $5 and free bike lights.
